1. Acceptance of these terms
These Terms of Use form a binding agreement between you and Stackwise. If you don't agree with any part of them, please don't use the platform. Continued use after we update the Terms means you accept the updated version.
2. Eligibility & accounts
Stackwise is built for students. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your country) to create an account. You're responsible for the accuracy of your profile, the security of your password, and everything that happens through your account.
One account per person. Don't impersonate a real person, an institution, or another Stackwise user.
3. Content you upload
When you upload notes, summaries, past papers, or any other material (“Content”), you represent that you have the right to share it and that doing so doesn't violate anyone else's rights — including your university's policies on coursework redistribution.
You keep ownership of your Content. By uploading, you grant Stackwise a worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, distribute, and create previews of it solely to operate and improve the platform. You can delete your Content at any time and the license ends, except for backup copies retained briefly for operational reasons.
4. Conduct
You agree not to use Stackwise to:
- Upload material that infringes copyright, plagiarizes, or breaks confidentiality.
- Harass, threaten, or dox other users.
- Submit malware, spam, or content meant to manipulate karma scores.
- Scrape the platform or hammer our APIs at volumes that degrade service.
- Misrepresent your identity, university, or course affiliation.
Read our Community Guidelines for the longer version.
5. Intellectual property
The Stackwise name, logo, design, and code are ours. Don't copy or rebrand them. If you believe content on Stackwise infringes your copyright, email [email protected] with the work in question, the URL where it appears, and proof of ownership. We'll review and remove material that violates these terms.
6. Academic integrity
Stackwise is a study aid, not a shortcut. Don't submit anything from the platform as your own original coursework. Your university's honor code still applies — and we'll cooperate with reasonable institutional inquiries about platform misuse.
7. Suspension & termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these terms, that put other users at risk, or that we're legally required to remove. You can delete your own account at any time from your profile settings.
8. No warranty
Stackwise is provided “as is.” We work hard to keep the platform reliable and the content accurate, but we don't guarantee it's error-free, complete, or suitable for any specific exam. Always cross-reference with your course materials.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Stackwise isn't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform — including grade outcomes, lost data, or reliance on user-submitted content.
10. Changes to these terms
We'll update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we'll post a notice on the homepage and email registered users at least 7 days before they take effect.
