No — any email works. Your university is selected separately on your profile so we can show the right courses. We may add lightweight verification later.
Yes. You can browse public material, and you can request your university from the contact form. We add new universities in batches.
Free for students during beta, and we're committed to keeping core features free for student users.
PDFs, images, and Markdown work best. Word and PowerPoint files are accepted but get converted into a preview. We strip metadata that could leak personal information from PDFs you upload.
Paywalled textbooks, leaked exam keys, and material your university restricts. See our Community Guidelines for the full list.
Removals usually mean a copyright report, a community report, or a Guidelines violation. You'll get an email with the reason and a link to appeal.
Uploads that get saved or upvoted by other students award karma. Helpful comments and verified summaries also count. Self-votes don't.
Posts that get reported and removed for serious violations subtract karma. Edits, redownloads, and downvotes don't.
Badges mark milestones (first 10 uploads, course coordinator, top contributor of the week). They appear on your profile and show what you tend to focus on.
Profile → Settings. Email changes require confirming the new address. Password changes sign you out of other sessions.
Profile → Settings → Delete account. We remove your personal data within 30 days. Posts you uploaded stay live unless you remove them first.
Yes — Profile → Settings → Export. You'll get a zip with your uploads and a JSON of your activity.
